When it comes to foodie recommendations, we couldn't go past the delicious Nero's Gelato Cafe, where we treated ourselves to the most delectable selection of fresh gelato that is made on-site. The cafe's interior was super funky and modern, however the main attraction of course was the range of beautifully presented and colourful ice cream tubs that lined the front counter. Our favourite selections were the 'hokey pokey' honeycomb, tiramisu and mascarpone, as well as the dairy-free, dark choc sorbet which melts in your mouth!!

After treating ourselves to one too many creamy treats, we took a walk up to the Mount Tomaree lookout. The walk was steep (and sweaty) but the view once we reached the top was worth every step! Next time we would plan to go later in the afternoon so we could watch the sun set over the ocean from the best vantage point in Nelsons bay - boy would that be a sight for sore eyes!

Dinner time! We chose to eat at The Wood Oven restaurant, where we indulged in a delicious Mediterranean style feast with the gorgeous D'albora Marina as our backdrop for the evening. The menu had over 30 different wood fire pizzas to choose from, with flavours ranging from the classic pepperoni to something a little more gourmet, like calamari, smoked salmon and prawns. Their pasta was also to die for - the creamy carbonara was a favourite pick of the group. Cost: $$
